Gemma & Marcus’ Crowcombe Court wedding was the sort of day that reminded me of the value and significance of professional wedding photography. The enquiry for their Crowcombe Court Wedding came in with fairly little notice, and apart from the absolute essentials, details were initially not readily available. It was only a little while before the wedding that it was revealed to me that Gemma’s Dad was, tragically, terminally ill and didn’t have much time left.
The fact that Gemma was able to arrange and plan such a fabulous celebration in such a short space of time was nothing short of incredible, and a huge testament to her strength of character! Crowcombe Court in Somerset was such a glorious venue for her wedding to Marcus, with beautiful grounds, a number of spacious and versatile rooms and some tremendously professional and accommodating staff.
My coverage started, as it usually does, with some relaxed coverage of the bridal preparations.Once Gemma was ready, she and her Dad took a short car ride together up the magnificent driveway of the venue before processing into the ceremony.
Throughout the day, I continued my relaxed, unobtrusive approach to wedding photography, allowing Gemma, Marcus and their guests to make the most of the day and their time together. I really enjoyed photographing the exceptionally funny & emotional speeches.
I was able to send a selection of images through to Gemma before her Dad passed away:
Hi IanThanks so much for this. I absolutely love the waving shots in the car. I’ve shown them to dad and he said ‘brilliant’. Great job Ian.Thank you so much for sorting the pictures. They’ve massively helped with the journey we’ve been on and provided lots of happy memories.
Gemma
