Nervous about your portraits? That’s fairly common among my clients, and it’s completely understandable; having your picture taken isn’t something that’s part of your everyday life so it’s quite reasonable to be a little anxious. I’ve been there myself, I get it.
The approach that I take with your wedding portraits is pretty simple, and all of the portraits you see in my portfolio have used the same methods.
I’m not going to ask you to do anything that you wouldn’t do in ordinary life. Instead, I’ll find a spot with some nice light and a pleasing backdrop, and then give you some very minimal direction that gets you to focus on each other for a little while.
I may give you some little pointers every now and then just to help. For example whenever I’ve been on the other side of the camera, I always seem to forget what to do with my arms!
You won’t feel bent and contorted into silly or unnatural poses, though. You’ll mostly be having a gentle walk, sitting down somewhere nice or standing and having a cuddle and a chat. Nice and simple.
I work pretty quickly, and we can be all done and back to your guest in around ten to fifteen minutes. If you want to take a little time for a breather and a moment alone together, that’s great; I’ll disappear and leave you to return to the celebrations in your own time.
